At Earth Species Project, Kai builds tools to understand the behavior of marine mammals in videos. He completed his B.S. in Physics at MIT, where he also worked in the Beery Lab on computer vision methods for tracking salmon in sonar video. Kai is interested in how humans and animals perceive the world, and wants to build technology that helps humanity protect, understand, and connect with the natural world. In his free time, he enjoys writing, painting, and bouldering.
