John Gonzalez

John Gonzalez has spent over a decade leading mission-driven organizations at the executive level, blending technical product expertise with operational excellence and people-first leadership.

With an MBA from Stanford and a BS in Computer Science from MIT, John has served as VP of Product Management at Candid, where he led a 27-person team to build and integrate a SaaS platform generating $33M in revenue, and as COO at Alluma, managing a $20M budget and 120-person team delivering health and human services solutions. 

John is passionate about leveraging technology for social impact and has held board leadership roles at PBLWorks and San Francisco Children’s Creativity Museum. As Director of Operations at Internet Archive, he led the transformation of the user experience at Internet Archive while scaling digital infrastructure from 20 to 120 petabytes.

Known for listening deeply with genuine curiosity, John navigates complex challenges with a unique blend of systematic thinking and emotional intelligence. Prior to executive roles in nonprofits, John held executive and senior management roles at Xerox, Getty Images, Intel, In Focus, Extensis, and Sequent Computer Systems.

Outside of work, you can find John exploring biking the roads of the Bay Area, mentoring emerging nonprofit leaders, or tinkering with the latest AI tools.
